On the Air - Benfica TV

Benfica TV will get underway today, when the channel opens up their airwaves exclusively in the MEO cable platform. Despite the club having also reached agreements with Cabovisão, ClixSmartTV and AR Telecom, these operators will not start airing the channel until January.
Specific details are still unknown about the channel making its way to the North American continent, but Benfica has stated that the channel will be made available in these parts sometime in the first part of the new year.

According to the "A Bola" 60 people will bring Benfica TV to their viewers, with 40 of them being part of outsourcing by the club. 3 million Euros have been invested on the channel, which will focus mainly on the senior football team, but that will fill a lot of its airtime with every team the club currently has, from rugby to basketball.
The channel will air Benfica's league games on Monday, on tape delay. Also part of the channel's line up are senior team practices, when authorized by Quique, youth team games, and Liga Intercalar games.
But it's not all match airings, the channel will also feature weekly interviews with important Benfica figures, comedy shows, reality shows, game shows and a show entitled "In defense of Benfica", where the hosts will debate, correct, and dispel, when needed, false information being put out about Benfica by the media.

A debut that shows some promise, let's hope that the channel will make its ways to the North American continent.
