Pablo Aimar will be out for at least a month, after suffering a tear in his left hamstring in the game against Porto. The Argentinean will miss the games against Napoli, P. Ferreira and Sporting. He is also at risk of missing the second leg of the Napoli fixture.
Leo, who also suffered a hamstring injury, but whose injury is less serious, is at risk of missing the first leg of the Napoli fixture.
Both players will now be under the supervision and care of Benfica's medical staff, and will undergo specific treatment for their respective injuries.
The times that have been established as recovery times, are based on usual recovery times, but not necessarily accurate. As the players undergo treatment the medical staff will determine their evolution and establish a return date. Nonetheless, it's safe to say that the minimum recovery time for Aimar is probably right on target, but at this moment it might be premature to speculate as to when he will return.
********** UPDATE *************
After conducting further tests on Leo and Aimar today, Benfica's clinical department revealed that both injuries are not as serious as they were thought to be. Aimar's target return date should be right before the Sporting game and Leo should most likely be available for Benfica's next fixture against Napoli.
Aimar will be evaluated in 12 days time in order for his recuperating progress to be assessed. After that Benfica's physio should be able to determine a more accurate return date.
