Quique is Watching

From what i saw in the first half, i have to say that Freddy Adu had a very good outing, showing touches of class and intelligence. Does anyone doubt that Quique Flores was not watching this game?

In the meantime, in Thursday's(6/5/08) "A Bola" there is a a small article that claims that Benfica might be considering on loaning Adu to another team in the Bwin in order for Freddy to gain more experience, a move that, according to the article, Freddy is receptive to. Don't believe everything you read is what i say, and at this time of the off season, there's all kinds of stories going, anything to sell papers, even if that story happens to be in the more reputable of the 3 Portuguese Dailies.

the kid wants playing time. i think he deserves it. let's hope someone has the courage to give the opportunity one way or the other.

the only thing i worry about is freddy's ability to protect himself. with his tendency to dribble out of heavy pressure, he's taking some hard knocks.

I think Freddy has enough talent to chalenge for a starting job, despite only being 19. Even if he loses a starting job to a big name, he is a better alternative off the bench than anyone else that might be sitting the bench.
it'll all depend on who will be on the squad and how Quique re-arranges the squad and ultimately closes it. I believe he is going to work with a squad of 23 to 25 the most. It makes sense for him to go on loan if he is not part of Quique's immediate plans, otherwise i think he has enough talent to make the squad.
