According to today's "A bola", Katsouranis wants to leave Benfica.
His agent tells the newspaper that Katsouranins wants to leave for personal reasons and that the decision was made during the incident with Luisao.
Katsouranis' agent also speaks of the midfielders desire to be closer to Greece, even though, all of his immediate family and friends currently reside in Lisbon.
Let's see - With Binya, Petit,Fellipe Bastos and Romeu Ribeiro possibly fighting for a spot in the defensive midfield next season, sounds to me like Katsouranis thinks he will not be the preferential choice to start in the position he likes the most, chosing to let Benfica know of his intentions and heavily banking on a good Euro to gain exposure.
I hope Benfica grants the player his wish, as we wouldn't want anyone to be on our team against their will, along with granting his wish, his release clause should be honored and full price paid.
