Rui Costa and Camacho discuss Adu and DIMaria

In this month's Benfica's members only magazine "A Mistica", both Rui Costa and Camacho offer praises to Freddy Adu and DiMaria.

Rui Costa claims that it has made him happy to see how some of the young players have evolved, particularly Freddy Adu and Angel DIMaria. Rui states that both youngsters have tremendous skill and energy, and that in the future they will be key players for Benfica and in European soccer.

Camacho also offers praise to the young pair, claiming that both youngsters have a bright future ahead of them, but right now they are still going through a learning and maturing process. "They both work hard and I have enjoyed their evolution as players, but I know that they are still missing something when it comes to team responsabilities, because Benfica is a club of a large dimension to have a 17 or an 18 year old as a central figure, they both have to "graduate" to the next level" states Camacho.
Camacho also pointed out that there is currently a talent base being set that can pay its dividends in a 3-4 year span.

There are many Benfica fans hoping that Freddy gets more playing time, myself included, but currently Freddy is going through a lengthy learning process that any player needs to go through.
Much like an apprenticeship, this period of growth is process that is necessary for a player to find their maturity and to flourish. There is no doubt in my mind that in due time, both Freddy and Angel will give a lot of joy to Benfica fans throughout the world, patience is required, as Rome wasn't built in a day.
