Petit Out for 2 weeks

According to Reports coming out of the Caixa Futebol Campus, Petit has suffered a minor tear in his hamstring and will be out of action for 2 weeks, which would rule him out of this weekend's Portuguese Cup match.
Rodriguez, will be available for Saturday's Portuguese Cup match, despite still going through specific physical work as a result of the injury he suffered against Belenenses.

The new signing, Sepsi, is currently going through a stamina building program, before joining the rest of the squad, in their daily training regimen.

With Petit being out, we will most definetely see a new defensive midfielder for this Saturday's Portuguese Cup against Feirense.
Benfica has already used, Edcarlos,Binya, Katsouranis, Petit, Romeu Ribeiro, and Maxi in the position.

Katsouranis will most likely be back in training tomorrow, as his suspension will draw to a close, however, He will not be fit to play, as he has not practiced with the team for over a week. Romeu Ribeiro is out on loan, Binya is away in the CAN. Camacho has 3 options, Maxi, Fellipe Bastos and Edcarlos. If you remember, the junior Fellipe Bastos has been working out with the senior squad since arriving in Portugal, due to Binya's international call up. Maxi and Bastos are the main candidates to the spot. Camacho's choice will most likely fall on Maxi, even though that is not a position he's very accustomed to. Personally, i'd like to see the young Brazilian get the start, but following Camacho's logic i'm almost certain it'll be Maxi. It would be a great opportunity for the young Brazilian, as the adversary is not as strong.
