Looking In on the CAN 08




Benfica has two players playing in the African Nations Cup, Marc Zoro who is part of the Ivory Coast squad and Gilles Binya who is part of Cameroon's Indomitable Lions.

The Ivory Coast was in action against Nigeria this past Monday, Marc Zoro watched from the bench while Chelsea's Malouda got the winning goal as the Elephants beat Nigeria 1-0.

Today,Cameroon played the reigning champions Egypt and lost, despite Samuel Etoo's 2 goal effort. The final score was 4-2, with both Zidan and Rabou getting 2 goals a piece for the Pharaos. Bynia came in in the 38th minute in an effort to reinforce the midfield as the Lions were down by 2, sixteen minutes into the first half.

Former Portuguese colony, Angola, will play their first game of the tournament this wednesday against group D favorites, South Africa
