Also signing today is the youngster Vinicius. Vinicius is a 17 year old brazilian forward, who has shown great promise in one of Brazil's secondary divisions. Benfica will buy half the youngsters pass from Taboao da Serra, his former club. Vinicius will report to Junior coach, Joao Alves, where he will be given a closer look. There's also a possibility Vinicius might go back to Taboao da Serra until the end of the spring.

Rafik Halliche has also signed a contract valid for 4 seasons for a reported 300k. The under-21 Argelian international, completes his physical and has already worked out in Benfica's training grounds although by himself. The center back will most likely be on loan to another Portuguese Bwin team with preference to Estrela da Amadora. However, Estrela's center back position is deep and Haliche might be headed somewhere else. More on his destiny in the days to come.

Looking in on the CAN 08

Marc Zoro scored for the Ivory Coast against Mali, a game the Elephants won 3-0. Zoro started the last game of the group stages being that the Elephants were already qualified.

Binya started the second game of the group stages for Cameroon, as he has established himself as a starter. Cameroon beat Zambia 5-1, and will play Sudan this afternoon for a sport in the second round.

The Squad was back in training today, and the good news is that Leo seems to have fully recuperated, he trained regularly with the rest of the squad. Doing specific work, were Petit, David Luiz and Rui Costa. Rui Costa usually does specific work which emphasizes muscle recuperation. Rui Costa will be unavailable to play this weekend as he will serve a 1 game suspension from the accumulation of yellows, throughout the season. David Luiz seems to be the only one that will not be available to play this weeken. The central defender suffered an ankle sprain and is currently doing treatment only. Petit will most likely be available has he did light jogging around the field, as a precautionary measure.
