What If?

I just happen to stumble upon a bit of news out of Brazil. It seems that a group of investors, MDF, has bought the pass of Vasco's 19 year old left back, Guilherme. According to the article Guilherme's most probable destiny is Portugal. Guilherme was one of Vasco's 07 revelations. He earned the starting left back towards the end of the season. What if Benfica sealed Leo's contract and brought in this youngster as Leo's understudy? Seems far fetched?

I must say that i would rather see Léo staying with Benfica than a new player to take his place. If that's not possible, then this Guilherme might (i say might) fill in the void that Léo will leave if he leaves. I still have hope...

Just my 2 cents...

Highly touted young player. Could be a great signing.

I wonder how much money Benfica have left to spend on transfers. Delgado, Guilherme, Belluschi. Only three players, but a LOT of money.

Does this relate at all?

@Pedro slb - I think having a 19 year old substitute Leo IF Leo leaves is not a wise move + it would leave Benfica in the same position as right now, only one decent left back. The ideal situation would be either Gilberto or Leo, fighting for the left back position with this kid. then you have the desired depth.

@Jason86 - apparently Benfica has 15mm they can spend - some of the 15mm is gonna go towards obtaining the remaining percentage of Cardozo and Di Maria's pass, it's hard to say if Bellushi will come has his connection seems to be to Porto.
on your second comment - i believe Benfica does have a partnership with Vasco, but i don't think it'd apply to Guilherme, being that his pass was bought by an investment group, which takes Vasco out of the equation as far as negotiations.
